Celebrate Suffolk with an afternoon in the park

A ‘Back to the 50safternoon in the Park’ is planned for Sunday 25 October in celebration of Suffolk Park Progress Association turning 50 this year.

Starting from 3pm onwards, the fun-filled event will be held in the grounds of the SuffolkParkHolidayPark and is open to all of the community.

The holiday park manager Paul Brooks said the event will celebrate the community spirit of SuffolkPark and showcase the caravan park’s new safari tents.

“We are especially encouraging long term locals to come along and tell their stories about the area.

“The stories will be recorded and later made into a short documentary ensuring that the character and history of the area is preserved.

“It will be a great afternoon to dress up 50’s style, bring a picnic basket and join in the cricket match on the beach.”

Mr Brooks said a sausage sizzle, Devonshire tea and BBQ will also be run to help raise funds for much needed pagers and radio communications for the Suffolk Park Rural Fire Service.

Entertainment during the afternoon will include local musicians Ukulele Collective and SuffolkParkHolidayPark’s newly constructed second generation safari tent will be on display for the community to view.

According to Mr Brooks, the original safari tent is proving extremely popular as an affordable family holiday option and the new improved design is guaranteed to be a hit.

“The safari tents give holiday makers all the relaxed benefits of camping without the hassle of setting up and pulling down a tent.

“The tents feature comfortable beds, a full kitchen and with no setting up and pulling down, it means holiday makers can spend more time at the beach.”
