Councillor David Warth was elected in October 2024.
I was born at a British navy base in Malta and moved to the United Kingdom (UK) when I was about seven years old.
In 1969, I immigrated to Australia and worked on a sheep and wheat property in the Riverina.
After this, I traveled and worked around Australia and then journeyed overland from Singapore to the UK to visit my parents. I then continued on to California, Central America, and Brazil.
Realising that Australia was the best place for me, I returned to work on fishing trawlers and later became a professional abalone diver. I became heavily involved in tourism, owning three diving centres at different times.
I then pursued wildlife filmmaking, producing, directing, and filming multi-award-winning documentaries while traveling extensively as a wildlife, environmental, and adventure cameraman.
I love the Byron Shire and our wonderful community. Now, as a Councillor, I’m dedicated to working towards the best possible outcomes for our special part of the world.
