Schoolies Week officially runs from 23 to 29 November, and this year more than 5,000 school leavers are expected to celebrate the end of their formal education in the Byron Shire.

Byron Shire Mayor, Sarah Ndiaye, invites all school leavers to embrace the wonder of this beautiful area.

“Byron Bay is a perfect place to relax, explore, and create unforgettable memories with your friends during this exciting time,” Mayor Ndiaye said.

“Enjoy everything our town has to offer, from stunning beaches to vibrant community activities.

“Try surfing, go kayaking, watch dolphins from the lighthouse and have some fun.

“Please remember to look after each other and respect our natural environment while you celebrate,” Mayor Ndiaye said.

Council is financially supporting the Red Frogs who will again be setting up a hub in Apex Park, offering emotional support, room visits and snacks as well as a ‘safe walk-home’ service.

Red Frogs volunteers act as the eyes and ears in accommodation venues and out on the streets providing a positive peer presence to young people.

Police will have extra resources in Byron Bay for Schoolies Week.
