Each year we allocate funding to support individuals and community groups as part of the Mayoral Fund.

The Mayor decides how to allocate the funding and this is endorsed by Council.

This year the total budget is $3,500.

How to apply

Applications for this year's round of funding closed on Monday 4 November 2024.

  • Applicants must be a not-for-profit entity.
  • An application may not necessarily result in a donation.
  • The amount of funding may not match the amount applied for. 

Timeline

  • 7 October - 4 November 2024 - Applications open.
  • Early November - Applications assessed by the Mayor.
  • Late November Council Meeting - Outcome reported to Council. 
  • Applicants notified of the outcome.

About Mayoral Fund

Council provides community donations under Section 356 of the Local Government Act (Act). These donations are determined at the Mayor’s discretion and reported to Council.

Mayoral Fund, also known as Section 356 donations, are advertised and a listing of successful funding applications are published in Council's annual report and website.

For the 2023 to 2024 year, the Mayoral Fund assisted with six projects within our community.

For the 2022 to 2023 year, the Mayoral Fund of $3,900 assisted with nine projects within our community.
