Work on the $4.1 million upgrade of the Rifle Range Road intersection at Bangalow is progressing steadily with contractors aiming to have the project finished by early September after some minor delays due to the wet weather recently.

Council’s Director of Infrastructure Services, Phil Holloway, said he was pleased to see the work going well and thanked the community for its support and patience with delays and detours.

“There’s no doubt this project has caused some disruption to people who use Lismore Road and Rifle Range Road, but we are trying to keep delays to a minimum,” Mr Phil Holloway said.

The focus so far has been of the construction of drainage culverts on Lismore Road and the raising of Rifle Range Road with the aim being to reduce the impact of flooding.

Traffic on Lismore Road is reduced to one lane while the culverts are being installed and backfilled.

New bus shelters will be delivered and installed in July.
