Slow the Flow Soil Improvement Project

Slow the Flow is a 2-year project designed to:

  • Give farmers the skills and knowledge to understand and track their soil health.
  • Support farmers to put in place on-farm soil improvement activities.
  • Provide opportunities for farmers to share and learn from each other.

As part of the project, farmers get training on how to:

  • Self-assess and understand their farms soil health.
  • Use a soil monitoring app, to record and understand their data and observations over a 2-year period.
  • Develop a soil health activation plan, with each farm will receive up to $2500 towards soil improvement activities.

Back in September and October 2024, we called for expressions of interest from primary producers in the Byron Shire to take part in the project.

Successful applicants have now been informed.
