After School Care

Byron Shire Council no longer offers Vacation Care or After School Care in the Byron Shire.

You will now need to enrol directly with one of the following services.

After school care and vacation care at Byron Bay Public School

We will finish operating after school care on the last day of Term 4. Northern Rivers Children’s Service will be the new provider.

They will start vacation care on 13 January 2025 (pending approvals).

Please ensure that your account is up to date with Council and that all fees are settled by 18 December.

Outside of School Hours care providers in the Shire

• Bangalow Public School - Northern Rivers Childrens Services – from 6 January 2025
• Brunswick Heads Public School - Northern Rivers Children's Services - from 6 January 2025
• Coorabell Public School - Northern Rivers Community Gateway/Rainbow Region Kids
• Mullumbimby Public School - Northern Rivers Community Gateway/Rainbow Region Kids
• Ocean Shores Public School - Northern Rivers Community Gateway/Rainbow Region Kids

Council resolved earlier this year to relinquish its licence to operate Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and has been working with the Department of Education to transition the services to new providers.
