Vacation Care

We offer Vacation Care at Byron Bay Public School during the NSW school holidays and student free days, excluding public holidays.

Children must have started Primary School, or be enrolled to start, to be able to attend one of our services.

Vacation Care runs from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8am to 6pm. 

It is run at the following venue:

  • Byron Bay Public School, Kingsley Street.

Step 2.Enrolment

New children - All children must be enrolled before making a booking. 

Returning children - If your child has attended Vacation Care or After School Care and is already enrolled, move to the next step.

Step 3.Make a booking

  • Online bookings have now closed.
  • For booking requests, cancellations or changes made from Thursday 26 September 2024, email the Venue Coordinator on byronoosh@byron.nsw.gov.au.
  • All cancellations must be in writing (via email or text).  Three full business days notice is required, otherwise you will be charged the full attendance fee.
  • Bookings cannot be taken over the phone.
  • There are no permanent bookings.

Brunswick Heads

Step 1.Changes to Brunswick Heads Vacation Care

Council no longer operates Vacation Care at Brunswick Heads Public School.

From Monday 14 October 2024 Brunswick Heads Vacation Care will be provided by Northern Rivers Children's Services at Brunswick Heads Public School, Fingal Street.

All enrolments and bookings are to be made directly with Northern Rivers Children's Services (from Term 4).

Mullumbimby

Step 1.Changes to Mullumbimby Vacation Care

Outside School Hours Care for Mullumbimby is provided by Rainbow Region Kids at Mullumbimby Public School, 21 Morrison Avenue.  

Council will continue to run Vacation Care at Byron Bay.  All families are in invited to enrol at this service.

All enrolments and bookings for Mullumbimby are to be made directly with Rainbow Region Kids.

Step 2.Contact details

Rainbow Region Kids

You provide
  • Lunch, morning and afternoon tea 
  • Drink bottles
  • Change of clothes 
  • Sunscreen, hats and covered shoes.

NOTE:  Remember to check the program for any additional items to bring along for activities on your booked days. 

Cancellations must be made in writing at least three business days before your booking.  Minimum 72 hours notice is required.

If you do not give the required notice, we will charge you the attendance fee.

Costs

  • $72 per day, per child.
  • Some activities may have extra fees.
