Pay Parking in Byron Shire

In the Byron Shire pay parking operates in:

  • Brunswick Heads central business district and South Beach Road.
  • Byron Bay central business district and council-operated car parks.  
  • Parts of Wategos

Separate fees apply at National Parks carparksThe Pass, Lighthouse, Captain Cook Lookout, Cosy Corner (Tallows Beach) and Seven Mile Beach.

Time limits apply to all vehicles. Check the signs before parking.

Pay at the parking meter

Step 1.Enter your licence plate at the meter.

Choose the duration of your stay

Operating hours are 9am to 5pm, seven days a week including public holidays.

Step 2.Pay the amount.

Parking fees are $5 per hour, capped at $25 for all day parking.  

  • Coins
  • Credit or debit cards
  • Pay wave. 

No ticket will be issued and you do not need to display a ticket. 

Step 3.Move your car when the maximum time has been reached.

Step 4.Receipt

To get a receipt visit MyParkingTicketYou will need to provide

  • Receipt number.
  • Date of parking
  • Meter ID number.

PayStay app

Use the PayStay app to pay for metered parking in Byron Bay, plus search for parking by time restriction and location.  

Step 1.Register with PayStay

Step 2.Park in a PayStay zone

  • Open the PayStay app or call 1300 322 111
  • Select or enter your vehicle registration.
  • Enter the 8 digit parking zone number displayed on the parking signs.  
  • Start the Parking Session.

Step 3.Finish parking

  • Open the PayStay app or call 1300 322 111
  • Stop the Parking Session.
