Stormwater upgrade for part of Mullumbimby coming in January

Byron Shire Council is set to upgrade the stormwater system at the corner of Station Street and Fern Street in Mullumbimby in 2025, aiming to reduce flash flooding in the area.

Work will start in mid-January and will require a temporary full road closure at the intersection of Station Street and Fern Street for approximately one month.

Changes along foreshore of Marshalls Creek at New Brighton

No parking areas along the foreshore of Marshalls Creek at New Brighton have been extended to protect the area from further erosion.

It comes after representations from the local community citing concerns about the continued degradation of the area which is a popular swimming and recreational haunt for locals and visitors.
